This coupler kit contains one 2.00" to 2.50" Black Silicone Transition, with matching liner clamps.
Our High Performance Series silicone reducers have been made to withstand sever punishment. We utilize 4 plies of Aramid fabric to withstand over 500F continuous for direct turbocharger installations. This can only be done safely with either Aramid or fiberglass reinforced hose. Polyester reinforced hoses max out around 350-375F and may fail causing hundreds of dollars in damage not to mention many hours worth of labor. You can relax knowing that Thermal Flex couplers will be able to take the punishment! This allows us to warranty these items for life if you use the proper clamping devices.
Only 100% US manufactured premium silicone is used in our products. These hoses are manufactured and tested to meet or exceed the requirements of the SAE J20 R4 Class A Specification. Each hose is hand wrapped and meticulously inspected before being released from the factory. All of our hose products are made with a super slick outer cover. This simple and easy design promotes easier cleaning and that trick look under the hood.
Because of the soft nature of silicone, standard worm gear clamps (the clamps with the tiny slots you can see the hose through) should never be used. The use of this style of clamp on silicone hose creates weak spots as the silicone is squeezed through the slots. This shear is the number one cause of hose failure. This is why we recommend using T-Bolt clamps or Silicone Liner clamps. T-Bolt and Liner clamps will not jeopardize the concentricity of the seal, nor will they dig in and cut the outer cover of the silicone hose. If you like to take of your car, do yourself a favor and make sure you get the right kind of clamp.
